Is Somebody There?

During a recent weekly national team meeting, Serena shared the following poem by 14-year-old Mia Thomas in the LIVE Bible.

Is Somebody There?

Is it a sin to say that I don’t believe?

Well, it’s true . . .

But if you’re God, you already knew.

All my life they said “God is love”

But they didn’t know love

Was something I ran away from.

Well now is the time

I’m listening.

Are you there?

Is anybody there?

I have to admit before I go any further

That I have trouble calling anyone “Father.”

All my life, they said he

Was love.

So now is the time

I’m listening.

Are you there?

Is anybody there?

Can our campers and mentees relate?

What an opportunity we have through T.R.A.C. and T.R.A.C.life to share the hope that YES, God is Here!

As we say during CrossTalk, God’s Word is a love letter to us. Be encouraged by our favorite Bible verses. May you be blessed by God’s Word as you prepare for camp!

  • “Rejoice in our confident hope.” Romans 12:12a (Serena)

  • “But it was the Lord’s good plan to crush him and cause him grief. Yet when his life is made an offering for sin, he will have many descendants. He will enjoy a long life, and the Lord’s good plan will prosper in his hands. When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish, he will be satisfied. And because of his experience, my righteous servant will make it possible for many to be counted righteous, for he will bear all their sins.” Isaiah 53:10-11 (Gary)

  • “My life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.” Acts 20:24 (Palma)

  • “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord God is the eternal Rock.” Isaiah 26:3-4 (Will & Amy)

  • Luke 19:28-28: Are we willing to give up our transportation (donkey), our clothes/status (our garments) and our praise (palms) to our Lord? (Angie)

  • Genesis 22: Will we follow God in obedience like Abraham when he was tested? (Curtis)

  • “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9 (Maggie)

  • “This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life. It’s adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike “What’s next, Papa?” God’s Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are. We know who he is, and we know who we are: Father and children. And we know we are going to get what’s coming to us—an unbelievable inheritance! We go through exactly what Christ goes through. If we go through the hard times with him, then we’re certainly going to go through the good times with him!” Romans 8:15-17 MSG (Sarah)

  • “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” Matthew 11:28-30 MSG (Angela)
