Feedback letter from Foster Parents & Leaders...
I just wanted to let you all know what an amazing weekend we had. Our group left around 2:30pm on Thursday, July 17th headed for The Woodlands, Texas. It took us about 7 hours to get there with bathroom stops and a dinner break. All of the girls were saying they didn't want to go and telling us how stupid the camp was going to be. We dropped them off at the foster home in The Woodlands on Thursday night around 9pm and then picked them up Friday morning at 6:30am. We then found out that the girls stayed up playing video games, watching movies and talking all night long - the fun had already started. We took them to the church after breakfast (around 7:30am) for drop off and they were STILL complaining! But what a turn around when we picked them up on Sunday!!! When we pulled up to the church they were sitting with the camp staff talking, laughing and playing around. It was amazing to see the huge smiles on the girl's faces! I'll try to remember to send pictures. They were ALL crying and did not want to leave. They all received a beautiful prom dress, jewelry and shoes to take home after the attended the prom where they were taught the waltz and salsa. They also had professionals who did their hair, make-up, manicures and pedicures. And this was just part of it...they received so much love this weekend it was amazing!! They all also received personalized photo albums with pictures of themselves throughout the weekend. Have I said it was amazing yet? This was so worth the long drive and long hours - I would do it all over again just to see the smiles on their faces and hear them talk about the camp the entire way home. They arrived home around 1am this morning and hopefully were able to get some rest today. All of them (who are not 15 yet) are already planning to go back next year and they said they have VIP spots reserved. So...heads up...be ready for them.
How can I even begin to thank you for the retreat? S. has returned home with such warm memories, new friends and appears to have a better understanding on how God works in our lives. She talked non stop all the way home, dressed up in the new frock, and went to bed exhausted! She talks about going back next year and can't wait to show Ms. C. the photo book. Again thank you.
Good morning, I just wanted to take a few minutes and thank you for inviting the girls to summer camp. They had a wonderful time and they couldn't stop talking about the fun they had. Thank you again and may God continue to bless you. C. L.
I'd like to pass on my great thanks to you and everyone associated with the TRAC camp. Tim and Daniel B. attended camp this last weekend and had a blast! It was hands down a great time. I didn't hear one comment that wasn't completely positive. They had lots of fun stories and learned some wonderful lessons about kindness and responsibility. They particularly liked buying things at the store and were very proud of their purchases and prizes. And on top of everything, I had a nice restful weekend. You provide a great service primarily to these kids in foster care, but to the foster families as well. My sincerest thanks to you all.
