Learning Modules and More

Did you know T.R.A.C.life launched a library of modules designed to teach mentees important life skills? Currently, topics include: budgeting, credit, hygiene and goals.

The response has been favorable. One young lady recognized she couldn’t live on her own without changing jobs, so she explored becoming a CNA. Another mentor used the hygiene module to discuss the sensitive topic of body odor. Her mentee responded well, and the two had fun shopping for toiletry items after completing the module.

T.R.A.C.life  Delphi, Indiana, used the module on short- and long-term goals at a quarterly event. Each mentee received a strip of paper with one step to prepare pigs-in-a-blanket. After reaching their goal, they enjoyed the tasty treat and then made a vision board featuring their goals.

In Midland, Michigan, Marcia and her mentee processed cans for the homeless shelter before working on the hygiene module together. Like many mentors, Marcia loves having tools to help her mentee prepare for adulthood.

Mentors and mentees in T.R.A.C.life Norman, Oklahoma, and Ohio Valley, had fun painting together. Check out these budding artists!

And shout out to T.R.A.C.life Teri and her creative team in Torrance, California. They planned a dog-themed quarterly event where a couple brought their two therapy dogs, and a K-9 unit came, too. Mentees and mentors made doggy blankets and decorated food buckets to donate to an animal rescue. And, of course, dinner was chili dogs and corn dogs!
