Mighty Hero, the Lord is with You.

“These enemy hordes . . . were as thick as locusts . . . too numerous to count.” Judges 6:5

Drew Hettinger, co-director of T.R.A.C. Torrance, California, felt discouraged after Covid sent several volunteers home. A situation with their foster daughter forced his wife and co-director, Erika, to miss camp. Then Todd, the CrossTalk teacher, got so sick between boys and girls camps, Drew had to find someone new to step in and give the message.

Can you relate? Right before camp, all hell breaks loose and you’re wondering . . . why, God? How, God?

God reminded Drew of Gideon’s story in Judges, so he shared God’s encouragement with the girls’ staff Thursday night before campers arrived.

These enemy hordes . . . were as thick as locusts . . . too numerous to count.

Despite the size and strength of the enemies we face, God says, “Mighty hero, the Lord is with you!”

God uses the weakest clan and narrows down our numbers, so we don’t boast of our strength. He calls us mighty heroes and reminds us He is with us.

And then, just when we least expect it . . . God brings victory.

Girls T.R.A.C. at Torrance was the sweetest time ever for all 32 campers.

Be encouraged, mighty heroes. God will bring victory. He is with us.
