The Thrill of Seeing Me Work Through You

A portion of the devotion shared by Michaela Rasmussen at T.R.A.C.life National Leadership Training

A phrase stuck out to me recently. He provides all that He requires of you. We serve such a good and loving Father. He puts us on assignment, and then He equips us with everything we need to fulfill those tasks.

You see this time and again in the Old Testament. When God commanded rest, He provided the Sabbath. When He asked Abraham to make a sacrifice, He provided the ram to take Isaac’s place. When the Israelites needed a way out, He parted the Red Sea and dried the water so they could cross.

When Joshua took over leadership of the Israelites, he must have felt overwhelmed by the responsibility of leading the people into new lands. But God reassured him, saying, “Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6) God not only called Joshua to lead, but He also provided the courage and assurance that He would be with him.

As Sarah Young writes in Jesus Calling, “If you live your life too safely, you will never know the thrill of seeing Me work through you. When I gave you My Spirit, I empowered you to live beyond your natural ability and strength . . . the issue is not your strength but Mine, which is limitless.”

Guess what? God is with you, too!
